Very intense and fresh aroma, with orange blossom and citrus notes, such as bergamot, envolved by hints of vanilla, some spices and caramel. Soft, velvety and voluminous in the mouth, with smooth tannins giving it structure in a long and vibrant finish, marked by good acidity. The 74-hectare Quinta de São Simão da Aguieira, the largest continuous vineyard in the Dão Region, is in the namesake village of Aguieira, in the municipality of Nelas. The late seventeenth-century manor house once belonged to João Sacadura Botte Corte-Real, the oenologist responsible for the studies that determined the delineation of the Dão Wine Region in 1908. Dão is a Portuguese wine region situated in the Região Demarcada do Dão. Dão wine is produced in a mountainous region with a temperate climate, in the area of the Rio Mondego and Dão rivers in the north central region of Portugal.
